Guys with Guns and Poetry
October 9, 2004

We assembled at Marc's house on Saturday night to drown our sorrows with great booze. cigars and food because our women were having fun somewhere else. It was very difficult to bear up without them but, as you can see from the photos, we tried.

The evening was unusual for several reasons. First, Marc had his nephew's and their friend over. They are nice young men who have cool guns.  They brought their paintball machine gun and we had a lot of fun shooting up the hillside. Secondly, Marc's cousin Paul sent down some poetry about cigars and women and Marc did a dramatic reading. This is a first. We didn't even know that Marc could read. Third, we told some very funny jokes, none of them are fit for a family oriented website except one from Mike:

"Why are Democrats better than Republicans?" Why?" "Well, you've never heard of a good piece of elephant have you?" Poetic, dontchathink?

Finally, for our after dinner entertainment, we ambushed Herm with a Jalapeno stuffed olive. It was pretty funny for everyone except Herm. Here are photos of the event. I promised several attendees that I would prove to their wives that we really do just drink, smoke and shoot the ... well, you get the idea. So ladies, here you go.

The entire crew looking happy! Heck, we're smokin' cigars, drinkin' good booze and playin' with guns... what's not to be happy about!

These guys have a name for themselves but I forgot what it was. It has something to do with where they went to high school. I call them the High School Sweethearts.

Rudy and The Sweethearts.

Sounds like a comic strip doesn't it?

The cigars. Look for these shots in Cigar Aficionado some day.

Joe and Herm load guns. If we'd been at the Alamo we wouldn't have lost with these two.

Michael and Marc on the line. Mark has the Browning single shot. The scope makes it look cool. Michael has to gain muscle mass to pump up the Sheridan single shot.

There was a couple of guys against the wall of a garage as this group pretends they are in Chicago on Valentine's Day.

Rudy took this great photo of Marc on the piano. It is fitting that Rudy is the editor of a movie music magazine. I guess you could say he "Shot The Piano Player."

Same as before, only more piano. No bullet holes in it, though.
